Resolution of 1st Adivasi Sahitya Sabha
Dated 1st Feb.2004
- From now the Adivasis should not be called with the derogatory names like Cha Janajati, Praktan Cha janajati, cha Janagosthi , cooley, Bongali etc. they should be called “Adivasis” of Assam.
- Adivasis will oppose these names from now.
- The language of Adivasis which is known as Sadri or cha bagania or Nagpuri it will be called “Adivasiya” from today .script will be Devnagri or Roman. Because it is different from the sadri which is spoken by Sadans of chotanagpur and the nagpuri Language. Adivasiya gives true identity of Adivasi. Adivasiya mean the language of Adivasis of Assam. It is common language of all Adivasis and is langue Franca for Adivasis.
- Adivasiya language should be introduced in the lower primary school as medium of instruction in the adivasi Area (where their own language is not introduced.)
- All India Radio and TV centre Guahati and Dibrugarh should produce program in Adivasi language.
- Adivasi unemployed youth should be employed in the Radio &T.V. centers and in the schools.
- Adivasi sahitya Sabha will organize other sahitya sabha according to tribe of Adivasis.
